Camel Rock is located at the entrance to Hanna Channel (named after Captain James Hanna). Camel Rock got its name because of the fact that it looks like a Camel's hump. There are a lot of reefs around the Camel Rock area, making it difficult to fish without a sounder. It's also a small area and can get rather busy with other fisherman, so it's important to know how to properly troll in this area. In this case with Camel Rock, it's important to troll in either a clockwise or counter-clockwise direction. If you troll along the shoreline, you should only do it for one direction and keep outside on your trip back. It just takes one boat to cause problems by trying to hold the shoreline for both directions. Please take a look at our Fishing Tips section for more information!
